Bobb is impatient
for change and will aggressively tackle the complete reform of
the District’s school system. District
residents overwhelmingly believe that education is the number
one issue facing the District. Over 80 percent of residents
are not satisfied with the state of our schools. Bobb
believes that we can no longer turn our back on the next generation
of youth in D.C. Our city fails if our schools are failing.
There are many success stories throughout the system, with
dedicated teachers, principals, parents and students who are
performing at high levels. Bobb believes that we need
the flexibility and open minds to learn from our successes,
while focusing like a laser beam on improving student achievement
and eliminating the achievement gap.
Bobb will demand accountability, open government and transparency
in his leadership of the Board of Education with focus and
commitment to data-driven and objective policy-making.
As the school system embarks on a once-in-a-generation opportunity
to rebuild its crumbling schools, he will make sure that we
engage our community in building modern schools on time and
on budget.
